How to send photos in order on WhatsApp

Why WhatsApp changes the order

WhatsApp re-sorts a batch by capture date before it sends, not by the order you tapped. Whatever sequence you chose in the picker is gone by the time it reaches the chat.

The manual workaround

On iPhone, select your photos, then press and hold a thumbnail in the strip above the caption and drag it into place. On Android there is no reorder, so the only manual option is to send photos one at a time.

The route that works on both

With PicOrder, number the batch first, then share it to WhatsApp from the share sheet. The numbers are in the pictures, so the order reads correctly however WhatsApp arranges them.
